of General Order Number 9, Headquarters, U.S. Army,
Washington DC, dated 2 September 1980.

Belaire High School is situated in a suburban area of East Baton Rouge Parish. The student body is derived from a full range of social, financial, and family backgrounds.
An elective credit may be earned in Junior ROTC for all 9-12 grade students. JROTC classroom instruction is taught during normal school hours.
Belaire JROTC has a male and female Drill team, Rifle team, and Color Guard unit. Teams compete in numerous local, state and regional events and the Color Guard unit participates in school and community programs. JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge(JCLC) attendance provides cadets with an opportunity for further leadership and adventure training. Belaire High has been awarded the rating of "Honor Unit" for achieving the standard in all areas of the program during the latest Command Formal Inspection.
