JROTC Established 15 April 1994, Under the Provisions
of General Order No. 5, Headquarters, U.S. Army,
Washington DC, dated 15 April 1994.
Designated 8th JROTC Battalion, Baton Rouge, LA

A suburban school located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Broadmoor High School has an average enrollment of approximately 800 students. JROTC is offered as an elective course with credit to all students 9-12 grade.

Classroom instruction is conducted during normal school hours. In addition to the standard JROTC classroom curriculum, integrated-curricular activities are offered in Drill, Rifle Marksmanship, and Color Guard team competition.

The Corp's of Cadets are involved in both school and community service projects. Highly motivated cadets are selected to attend annual JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC).  This unit has been awarded the rating of "Honor Unit with Distinction" for achieving high standards in all areas of the program during the latest Command Formal Inspection.
