Established 1 July 1972, Under the Provisions of General
Order No. 12, Headquarters, U.S. Army, Washington DC,
dated 3 March 1972.
Designated the 4th JROTC Battalion, Baton Rouge, LA

Glen Oaks High School is located in the northern part of the Parish. The Junior ROTC program is a strong presence on campus and is well supported by the entire faculty and staff. JROTC is an elective program conducted during normal school hours and awards an elective credit for successful completion.

This unit has been awarded the rating of "Honor Unit" for achieving the standard in all areas of the program during the latest Command Formal Inspection. JROTC Drill, Rifle and Color Guard teams are very active in school and local competition throughout the school year. Selected cadets may attend annual JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) for additional leadership training.
