Washington DC, dated 17 July 1981.
Designated 5th JROTC Battalion, Baton Rouge, LA

Woodlawn High School is a suburban school located in the southeast portion of East Baton Rouge Parish. Junior ROTC is taught as an elective course during normal school hours. However, many team activities are available.  Drill, Color Guard, and Rifle marksmanship integrated-curricular activities take place after school hours.

Cadet enrollment is approximately 17 percent of the student body and has an average JROTC graduate rate of 98 percent.

The Woodlawn JROTC Corps of Cadets is very active in both school and community support. This unit has been awarded the rating of "Honor Unit" for achieving the standard in all areas of the program during the latest Command Formal Inspection.
